Trikona="triangular." Begin in Tower pose, Vimanasana. Bend to one side until your torso is parallel to the ground. Rest your lower arm on its ankle. Skypoint with the other arm, and look up: utthita trikonasana; utthita="elevated."
Variation 1
Now twist your torso to face the rear, and switch the positions of your two arms: parivritta trikonasana.
