Ugra="powerful." Begin in Arasana, legs open 90º. Bend forward 45º, hands to your shins or palms grounded before you. Bend further, until your face touches the ground, arms outstreteched before you and palms grounded.


Variation 1

Open your legs further, to 135º. Bend forward 45º, palms grounded before you.

Variation 2

Twist your torso and ground your shoulder next to the sameside leg (parivritta ugrasana, parivritta="twisted").
