Also known as "Dead Body," "Death," and "Relaxation" pose. Lie supine (on your back), relaxed, arms down by your sides and out about 45 degrees from your sides, palms up, legs.loosely opened.

Variation 1

Open your legs wide.

Variation 2

Rise up on your elbows.

Variation 3

Spreadeagle. Open legs 45 degrees apart, bring your arms back beside your head and out about 45 degrees, palms up, and stretch your arms and legs in four directions. This is the "supine star" or Suptapanchanistri (supta="sleeping," panch="five," ani="point," stri="star"; thus "sleeping five-pointed star").
