Ardhachandra="halfmoon." Begin in Vimanasana. Interlace your hands and bend backwards, arms well back.

Variation 1

Bend sidewards, looking upwards and keeping arms aligned with torso.

Variation 2

Carry the sidebend further, planting one palm on the ground; skypoint with the other arm, and side-raise its sameside leg high and straight.
