Rabbit / Sasangasana
Previous / Kneeling Gallery / Next

Rabbit is aka Moon, and Sasanga aka Shashanka. Shasha= “hare,” anka= “marked”; shashanka= “hare-marked,” hence the moon, whose markings are thought to resemble a rabbit. In some teachings, poses herein labeled Child are instead labeled Rabbit.

Begin in Trishnasana, knees wide. Keeping thighs as near vertical as possible, bend forward, leaning on your hands, until you ground your crown. Tuck in your head between your knees and reach back to grasp your heels.
